There many holidays throughout the year, but few are celebrated in the way that Easter is. You might think that Easter is all about eggs and Easter baskets, but there is a lot more to this holiday than what meets the eye. This Holiday can fall during different times each year, and this year it falls on Monday March 28. This is early for an Easter Sunday, but in recent years this holiday has been falling on the end of March. This is a holiday that is known for sweet treats and Easter baskets galore.
Easter Eggs
Easter eggs, also called Paschal eggs, are decorated eggs that are often given to celebrate Easter or springtime. As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Eastertide (Easter season). The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate. Chocolate eggs are the popular candy for the holiday.
Egg hunts
An egg hunt is a game during which decorated eggs, real hard-boiled ones or artificial ones filled with, or made of chocolate candies, of various sizes, are hidden for children to find, both indoors and outdoors. When the hunt is over, prizes may be given for the largest number of eggs collected, or for the largest or the smallest egg.
Easter might be known for many things, but candy seems to be what it is all about. There are many different types of them that you can choose to fill your basket with, chocolate bunnies and jelly beans are the most popular choice.
